First Shots
First Shots is an entirely free program established by the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) and hosted by Applied Ballistics Systems, to help interested people in learning the basics of shooting a firearm.
These classes are usually 2 hours in length, divided into two sessions. The first hour of the session is classroom instruction with an understanding on the basics of firearm safety. Then the second hour is hands-on instruction of the information learned in the first hour.
So at a First Shots seminar, you'll receive:
•An education introduction to the safe and recreational use of firearms
Actual photos of new shooters (posted with permission)
•Individual and group training
•A rundown of shooting sports opportunities of all levels and interest
•A chance to give shooting a try
Applied Ballistics Systems is a NSSF associated range and offers a First Shots seminar once a month. The classes are usually held the 2nd Saturday of each month. (But check our calendar just to make sure.)
